Kulti is the 141st most populous city in India with a total population of 3,13,809. Kulti is a city in the Paschim Barddhaman district of West Bengal and the highest employment in the district is in Agriculture, Cotton textile, Wool, Silk, Leather and other household industries. The discovery of coal led to the industrialisation of the area and most of the forests have been cleared. At the western fringe of the area the Barakar River forms the boundary with Jharkhand.
