Noida or Gautam Buddha Nagar is the 26th largest Hindi speaking city of India with a total population of 6,30,000. Noida comes under the Gautam Buddha Nagar District. Major employment in the district is in the Electronics, Textile and Information Technology industry. Several export units, factories, government institutions, Private Indian and Multinational Companies are located here generating a lot of employment. Gautam Buddha Nagar has 73% of the workforce in Industry and Services, 21% Agricultural workers and 6% Household workers. Because of high paced industrialization and urbanization, Noida is no longer a big agricultural belt. NOIDA is an abbreviation of the “New Okhla Industrial Development Authority” and is a systematically planned city. Noida came into administrative existence on 17 April 1976 and is part of the National Capital Region of India, with good infrastructure in terms of roads, metro and buses connecting it to Delhi.
