Morena has a total population of 2,00,482 and ranks 90th in term of Hindi speakers. Major employment in Morena district is in Agriculture sector, Automobile industry, Food sector and in the Construction industry. Out of total workforce, 67% are employed in Agriculture, 30% are employed in Industries and remaining 3% household workers. Morena is a good agricultural belt because of the river Chambal and alluvium deposit. Wheat and oilseeds are the main crops of Morena district.
