Deogarh has a total population of 2,03,123 and ranks 87th in term of Hindi speakers. Major employment in Deogarh is in Agriculture, Mining, Government and in the Tourism sector. Deogarh is known for many Hindu temples Baidyanath Temple in Deoghar holds one of the twelve Shiva Jyothirlingams and is also one of the 51 shaktipeeths in India. it is the only place in India where the jyotirlinga and the shaktipeeth are together. It makes Deogarh very important, many dynasties have contributed here and built temples.
