भारतीय पौराणिक कथाओं में भगवान शिव के साथ स्पेकटाक्लड कोबरा (Spectacled Cobra) के संबंध को व्यापक रूप से जाना जाता है। भगवान शिव को नागेश्वर के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, जिसका अर्थ है सांपों के भगवान। देश भर में भगवान शिव के इस रूप को समर्पित कई मंदिर मौजूद हैं।
